have trained novice to national level riders to excel for
over 30 years.
The Coaches
The Horse People is a family-owned
training and equestrian camp facility run by Wolf and Bev
Schinke.
Wolf Schinke has developed countless youngsters to Championship levels during his 30 years of coaching. Wolf's accomplishments include coaching the Canadian Pentathlon team, developing riders for the Canadian National Team, and developing Eventing riders for Young Riders Teams of various nations. Wolf is a Level 3 Coach.
Bev Schinke (M.Ed.) specializes in sport psychology techniques and is an accredited member of the Canadian Counseling Association. She has co-authored a book entitled "Focused Riding".
The Facility
Located in the heart of the Ottawa Valley , the Horse People occupies 170 acres surrounded by the Larose Forest , a beautiful nature reserve offering trails of unsurpassed beauty. Our facility includes a heated indoor arena with viewing lounge, two Dressage rings, a Hunter Course, a Jumper Course, and three levels of cross-country courses including steeplechase and a water course. In the past, we have hosted the Provincial Championships in Eventing.
The Horse People stables 55
horses, including school horses, private show horses, and
sales horses. Whether you are looking for riding lessons,
boarding, or competition-level training, the Horse People
have the facilities and experience you need.
