Parents of Campers FAQs:

It's both an exciting and scary time - your child is going to camp for the first time. It may be the first time you have been parted from each other. The camp is accredited, licensed, small and well recommended. The staff are certified and well trained both in their sport as well as in the matter of first aid and injury prevention.

The camp owners and directors have met and spoken with you and now you must do your part in helping to prepare your child for a wonderful experience.

Please

- write, fax, or email your child regularly, mail time is eagerly awaited by campers and staff alike.
- visit on visiting days, if your child is staying longer than a two week camp session.
- abide by camp rules and do not telephone except in an emergency.
- do not send food.

Please do not promise to pick up your child and bring him or her home if he or she does not like camp. Please allow the child time to master the situation as most first time campers experience some homesickness until they have gotten used to the routine and made some friends.

The camp is structured for safety reasons. Children seem to like the structure quite well. It does vary if there is a heat wave in that we waken the children at 4:30 am and ride until breakfast after which they can go back to bed. The afternoon ride is then cancelled and replaced with sedentary activities and pool time. We also allow for an evening swim during a heat wave period.

If your child has a birthday during camp, we will have our chef prepare a huge birthday cake and the entire camp helps to celebrate.

We will be pleased to assist in any way to make your child's stay a special one - please feel free to contact us any time.
